Christmas Fun

There were quite a few girls missing from
our donuts
and jammies Christmas together.

Whether from last minute illnesses
or other activities that came up
there were only 6 out of 14 girls.

Of course that didn't put a damper on the fun!

First, I gave the group some time to examine our tree. Then they had to write down as many ornaments as they could remember.
Anjolina won with 18.

They also told me their favorites and
the top winners are always angels,
hearts and stars.

After doing some catch up to see how everyone was liking school and preparing for Christmas break we jumped right into eating donuts.

After our sugar high kicked in we exchanged gifts and decorated some ornaments with sharpies and glitter.
I was lucky enough to receive a couple of them.

We always watch a short video of the Nativity story performed by little kids from New Zealand. It so is so sweet and the girls love their accents.

What better way to make a huge mess in the kitchen then to let them create winter scenes with cans of shaving cream?

Two teams were formed:

Genevieve, Anjolina and Traci had a very structured minimally messy scene including a skating rink, snowmen and a sliding hill.

Mia, Lily and Ella used their entire can of shaving cream, pipe cleaners, puff balls, green sprinkles, and action figures to make it look like a bomb went off in a winter wonderland.
Lucky for them, my seven year old son was the judge so they won!

Santa beards!

After cleaning up, which wasn't the easiest task,
there were piggy back rides,
jumping and dancing in the living room.

Lots of screaming and giggling (while laying on each other's stomachs) to make it a festive and fun Christmas party.

We will try for a bigger group during winter break or Valentine's day!

Have a wonderful Christmas!

For unto us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
                                           And he will be called
                                     Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
                                     Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
